Is it officially licensed?

The Quarter Arcades cabinet is an official Bandai Namco Entertainment licensed product, with everything from the final shell design to the ROM being given the OK from the people that know PAC-MAN best – the people that made the original game! Our cabinet is available at multiple retailers around the world, which includes Bandai Namco’s own online store.
Can it be played straight out of the box? How is it powered?

It absolutely can – everything you need is right in the box for you, with no assembly or coins required! A micro USB cable is included in the box so that you can charge its internal rechargeable battery through an electronic device or via your mains socket; once fully charged, it’s ready to go! Of course, you can also keep it plugged in if you’d prefer to keep it on display at home.
Does it play just like the original game?

It is the original game! The original PAC-MAN arcade ROM is built-in, playing on a bespoke custom emulator. Everything you’d expect from the arcades is right here – the 1 or 2 player options, the classic gameplay, the click-feedback joystick and authentic buttons… and yes, even the infamous level 256 glitch!
Have you released a firmware update?

We’re always striving to make our Quarter Arcades cabinets as perfect as possible, and pride ourselves on making them the most authentic playable arcade experiences at home. That’s why we’ve made it easy to implement free firmware updates so any improvements can be installed simply. You can download the firmware update from the bullet point above, which is easy to install, and includes the ability to switch your cabinet from a 5 lives version to a 3 lives version.

Does it have to be played?

Quarter Arcades cabinets deliver the most fun, authentic arcade experience for those wanting to feel like they’re really playing at the arcades, but we know this quality collectable is as displayable as it is playable! Feel free to display your cabinet at home or in your office on a table, in a glass cabinet, or anywhere else. You can have it switched off, or keep it plugged in and turned on to play in its default ‘attract mode’!
What are the specs?

The cabinet features a 5 inch full-colour TNT screen in 4:3 ration, a 3-watt built-in speaker with a volume control dial, an LED backlit marquee banner, a built-in lithium rechargeable battery for portable use, and comes packaged with a 1.8mm micro USB cable. The machine also features reverse air vents with wire mesh, real wooden and metal details, a four-way joystick with click feedback, and a rocker power switch. The exact measurements are 430mm (height) x 160mm (width) x 210mm (depth).
Which other cabinets are in the range, and can I make a suggestion?

PAC-MAN is the first release in the Quarter Arcades range, and is limited to just 10,000 units worldwide – once it’s gone, it’s gone! Ms. PAC-MAN, Galaga, and Galaxian are launching in 2019, with Space Invaders, Dig Dug and Track & Field coming in 2020. More arcade classics are coming to the line in the future.
